John Boyega Holds Star Wars Party For Seriously Ill Children

The Force is strong in John Boyega, and he's obviously following the Light Side of it.

The 24-year-old actor seems to be making a habit of visiting children's hospitals. Back in March, the Star Wars: The Force Awakens actor visited terminally ill children at The Royal London Hospital in London. Now, he's hopping on to Demelza Hospice Care for Children in Eltham, south east London, this week to hang out with the children, staff and their families in a fun Star Wars-themed party.

The people in the hospital were excited and ready for the occasion, as they even had lightsabers and other Star Wars gear for Boyega's day with them.

In an interview with News Shopper, Boyega expressed his excitement during the visit, saying:

I'd heard about the great work of Demelza so couldn't wait to visit and help make some dreams come true. I was blown away by the children and the nurses who do such a fantastic job of caring for them.

Fiona Ashmore, coordinator of the hospice, also expressed how grateful they all are for the Finn actor's time. She said:

We're so grateful to John for taking time out of his busy schedule to visit Demelza. He interacted beautifully with the children and families, playing games, cracking jokes and most importantly raising so many smiles.

Take a look at Boyega meeting tiny stormtroopers, Darth Vaders and Jedis in the video below:

The actor lives in nearby Peckham, so he must have not had a difficult time visiting the hospice. However, it's still very cool of him to make the visit. The actor is currently filming Star Wars: Episode VIII. He also just landed a lead role in Pacific Rim 2. He's voicing Finn in LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens and he's also rumored to join Marvel's Black Panther. Clearly, the actor is busy and his schedule is packed.

Boyega isn't the only actor fond of visiting ill children and making them happy despite their busy schedules. Mark Hamill, who celebrated Star Wars day with fans in a children's hospital and visited a cancer-stricken fan during his time off from Episode VIII filming last month, is also among those Star Wars actors.
