Mark Hamill Had The Best Star Wars Day Celebration With Fans

May the Fourth has come and gone, but photos and news from people celebrating the occasion yesterday just keeps on coming. One special celebration comes from none other than Luke Skywalker actor Mark Hamill, who went and visited sick children at the Guy Hospital in England. It seems like the 64-year-old actor had the time of his life yesterday enjoying the occasion with the young fans.

Hamill didn't enjoy the celebration at the hospital by himself though. He brought along some droids for the joyous event with the kids. C-3PO, R2-D2, and BB-8 went along for the ride. Good thing C-3PO isn't complaining, and why would he? The happiness of the children seems contagious.

Check out Hamill's tweet:

Some of the children have serious conditions, so it's heartwarming to see Hamill taking time off from his busy schedule, and staring contest with Rey actress Daisy Ridley, to make the kids happy with his presence.

Well, it isn't enough for Hamill to just make the trip. In an editorial in The Sun, the actor appealed to fans and readers to help out the children.

You can't believe how good it feels to help others. I want everyone to experience that for themselves. I would appeal to Sun readers – if you have ever derived pleasure or inspiration from the brilliant Star Wars movies, send a little of that back – not to me but to somebody who really needs it.

It's worth noting that May the Fourth is also the final day of Lucasfilm's Force for Change charity initiative. Prior to Star Wars Day, Daisy Ridley appeared in a videothanking fans who have supported the cause. Hamill also offered himself as one of the prizes for the initiative.

A great guy, Mark Hamill is! This certainly trumps all the trolling he's been doing on Twitter in previous weeks.

Mark Hamill will return as Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: Episode VIII on December 15, 2017. The actor will also be appearing in this year's upcoming Star Wars Celebration Europe, taking place at ExCel London Exhibition Center from July 15 to 17.
