Written by Kim Eun Hee, the genius behind the blockbuster zombie period drama, Kingdom and Kingdom: Ashin of the North, Jirisan is one of tvN’s 15th-anniversary special projects.

Jirisan Episode 5 Recap
Jirisan Episode 5 sees the rangers informing the townspeople about the potato bomb that has been scattered in the mountain. While the wife of the deceased snake-catcher leaves the conference along with the others, Yi Kang (Jun Ji Hyun) seems to be suspecting someone among the audience.
On the other hand, Hyun Jo (Ju Ji Hoon) was investigating by himself and came to a conclusion. However, when he told Yi Kang about this, the latter was unconvinced as they have no solid evidence to back up his statement.

When Yang Sun called for help while she was stranded in the restricted part of the mountain, they discovered a potato bomb waiting for its victim.
According to Yang Sun, Se Wook told her about the potato bomb’s location. Yang Sun told the rangers that she saw her grandfather holding three potato bombs back at home.
Because of this, they arrested the old man even though Hyun Jo insists that he is not the real culprit. Hyun Jo was even more sure about his assumptions when he confirmed to Private Ahn that it was Se Wook who was distributing poisoned yogurts at the mountain.
Hyun Jo changed his strategies and went back to the mountain to collect all the memory cards from the motion detector cameras. When they were inspecting the videos, they finally found the real culprit.
Yang Sun’s life was already in danger when Se Wook had her drink a poisoned yogurt. Thankfully, the rangers came as fast as they can. But, they were not able to capture Se Wook.
Back to the present, Da Won informs Yi Kang that Se Wook was found dead in the mountain months after. And when they thought the killings will stop, it still continued which had them wonder that Se Wook was not the mastermind.
