The Suicide Squad is about to get a spin-off for Peacemaker on HBO Max and the director of the film, James Gunn, wants an additional season for the upcoming show of John Cena. As early as now, he is already hoping for more, a longer run for the series.

In a recent chat on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Gunn appeared with Cena and his co-star Margot Robbie. He joked about Cena stealing the outfit and he wore it during the interview. He also warned Cena to stop taking the costume. Various circumstances show that the actor was wearing his suit outside the studio doing his regular activities like grabbing a cup of coffee.

Gunn also said, pertaining to the Peacemaker costume, "I know it doesn't look like it's that expensive, but these costumes are tens of thousands of dollars to put together," and he expressed his interest seeing another run for the upcoming show, "and we're hoping for a Season 2, and now HBO's not gonna give it to us, because we're overbudget."

Cena jokingly answered him by saying that if he keeps the costume, the studio won't even ask for it back.

John Cena banners his titular series, Peacemaker, and he also served as the co-producer of it wherein they would be exploring the origins of the character and where he is coming from with his ideals. Gunn made it clear that the series does not mean as a prequel to the upcoming film, The Suicide Squad.

Earlier this month, Season 1 has finished filming and while it still has no release date yet, it is expected to be up on HBO Max by January 2022.

Peacemaker will make his debut in The Suicide Squad along with the other members of Task Force X led by Harley Quinn premiering in theaters and on HBO Max on August 6. 2021.
