James Gunn Teases More Suicide Squad Spin-Offs in Development

James Gunn is still hard at work on Peacemaker but it looks like he already has other plans. The filmmaker has just admitted that he has ideas for more The Suicide Squad spin-offs in the future.

Gunn recently shared a photo confirming he is hard at work onPeacemaker right now. When one fan asked whether the director had any ideas for more Suicide Squad spin-offs, Gunn had a straightforward response.

The answer doesn't exactly share too much about what these ideas are but it's great to know that Gunn is already thinking about more spin-off shows to work on.

So which Suicide Squad character could get their own spin-off series? There's a possibility that Bloodsport is one of those antiheroes. After all, he's played by Idris Elba and already has an interesting backstory as the man who shot Superman and lived to tell his story.

For now, fans can speculate about what Gunn is considering as his next spin-off project. In the meantime, the filmmaker is finishing Peacemaker before he goes on to work on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Peacemaker will star John Cena as the titular hero who will appear in The Suicide Squad. The series will consist of eight episodes that were all written by Gunn and the filmmaker is also set to direct most of them. Although the series has not yet been given an official release date, it is expected to premiere on HBO Max in mid-2021.

The Suicide Squad will be released in selected theaters and on HBO Max on August 6, 2021.
