The Attack on Titan manga may have ended over two years ago, but it continues to be a hot topic among fans given how divisive it is.

In fact, discussions about the ending happened again recently as a new Attack on Titan volume was revealed to feature a new chapter.

This upcoming chapter will feature new story content that will take place after the ending. Because of this, fans are hoping the new chapter will at least make the original ending better.

The ending has become such a sore point among many fans that Isayama himself tearfully apologized for it during an event last year. Thus, fans hoped that the anime would change the ending up a bit.

Now, with Isayama’s message, it looks like there will be changes in the anime’s finale. Fans shouldn’t expect massive changes though, as Isayama only implied some minor alterations.

With the anime’s proper finale airing in Japan this weekend, a message from Hajime Isayama was shared on X. Isayama thanked fans for their support over the past decade, and he also shared some interesting info.

Specifically, Isayama said that he drew part of the rough draft for the final episode. While this doesn’t imply huge changes, a message from director Yuichiro Hayashi revealed that the finale features a new script by Isayama.

Fan reactions were tempered though, as many believed that the changes won’t affect the ending overall. Some are at least hoping that the ending will be fleshed out so that it won’t be as sudden as the original.

Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 4 will be released in Japan on November 5. The finale is also expected to be released shortly after on Crunchyroll in the US and other selected regions.
