NCIS Season 19 Episode 6 won’t air this week. And while this news may be devastating for fans of the hit NBC series, the network tried to make up for the show’s week-long hiatus by giving audiences information on the upcoming installment.
Here’s everything we know so far about NCIS Season 19 Episode 6.
When Will NCIS Season 19 Episode 6 Air?
Since NCIS Season 19 is on a week-long hiatus, fans can expect to see Episode 6 on Monday, Nov. 1.
NCIS Season 19 Episode 6, titled False Start, will see the NCIS team investigating the death of a Navy commander who trained some of the top athletes in the country.
NBC has yet to release the official promo for NCIS Season 19 Episode 6. Since the installment is still one week away, the network might release the clip days before it airs.
Why Did Gibbs Give His Job To Parker, Not McGee?
In NCIS Season 19 Episode 5, titled Face the Strange, Gibbs (Mark Harmon) opted to stay in Alaska. He is no longer an active member of the team, but there are hopes that he will return to the show one day.
Following last week’s episode, fans can’t help but wonder why Gibbs didn’t recommend McGee (Sean Murray) for his old job. After all, McGee is Gibbs’ protégé.
On Twitter, NCIS Season 19 boss Steve Binder explained why he thinks Gibbs didn’t even bother to offer the job to McGee. Instead, the role as the new leader of the team was given to Parker (Gary Cole).
“I, personally, would not presume to think Gibbs recommender Parker *over* McGee. I would like to think Gibbs and McGee had plenty of time to talk about the future and what McGee told Torres on the stake-out… Gibbs already knew,” Binder tweeted.
In a follow-up tweet, Binder further explained why Gibbs felt that it was also fitting to give Parker his old job. After all, the latter saved his life.
“M&G spoke any time these past months as it became obvious Gibbs wasn't going back to NCIS. Yes, G surprised M he was staying in Alaska. That's a different subject. Parker lost his job to protect Gibbs. How does G not approve? And he IS irreplaceable. At least that's how we see it,” he wrote.
Will Parker Succeed At His New Job In NCIS Season 19 Episode 6?
NCB just released a photo from NCIS Season 19 Episode 6, and it shows Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) and Parker standing at a football field.
Since next week’s episode has to do with athletes, it makes sense for the two characters to be featured on the field.
However, it’s unclear if Torres and Parker will get along when they finally work together. And fans can’t help but wonder what it would be like for the rest of the team to follow their new boss’s orders.
Parker must also find it challenging to live up to everyone’s expectations because he needs to be as good as Gibbs or be even better than him.
Even though Parker is not meant to replace Gibbs on a personal level, there’s no denying that he replaced him as the team’s new boss.
Will Parker, McGee Have A Peaceful Working Relationship?
It will also be interesting to see how McGee and Parker will work together.
There is no bad blood between the two because McGee made it clear that he didn’t want Gibbs’ job.
But it will still be interesting to see what McGee and Parker’s working relationship will be like. And fans are wondering if the former will always follow the latter’s rules and orders.
