CloverWorks’ new anime is getting a lot of attention from fans this season, and that’s not just because of its action. The Wind Breaker anime protagonist Haruka Sakura is also becoming a fan-favorite for his tsundere traits.
At least, fans think he’s very much a tsundere, though not in a romantic sense like other notable tsundere characters.
This is also one of the many things that sets Wind Breaker apart from other shows in its genre.

Wind Breaker Is an Unexpected Yanki Anime
Wind Breaker is the latest anime from CloverWorks (of My Dress-Up Darling and Horimiya fame), and it’s unlike most of the studio’s recent projects. That’s because this is a yanki anime that’s more in line with shows such as Tokyo Revengers and Bucchigiri?!.
In many ways, Wind Breaker is similar to many shows in the genre. After all, its protagonist is a hot-blooded student who’s raring for a fight. Then, there’s Akihiko Nirei, a character that reminds fans of Takemichi.
On the flip side, this new anime has many elements that set it apart. For instance, it’s not as serious and dramatic as Tokyo Revengers, though it still features lots of high-intensity fights.
Moreover, the protagonist, Haruka Sakura, also makes the show unique, as he’s very much a tsundere if you ask viewers.

Is Haruka Sakura from Wind Breaker a Tsundere? Exploring His Personality
At first, Haruka Sakura may seem like a typical hothead. Sure, he loves getting into fights, but as shown in the first episode, he has kind traits he’s quite embarrassed by.
In episode 2, Sakura’s tsundere nature is way more apparent. There were even multiple times in the episode when he blushed and denied being helpful.
Typically, tsundere characters act that way towards their love interests. Of course, other tsundere characters act that way in general.
Thus, it’s safe to say that Sakura is very much a tsundere, and this will likely be shown even more in the coming episodes.

Will Haruka Sakura Ever Get a Love Interest?
As a tsundere character, it’ll be interesting to see if Sakura will eventually get a love interest. If that happens, there’s no doubt we’ll see more of him blushing.
A romance angle isn’t guaranteed though, as the show seems to be more focused on fighting. Not to mention that there isn’t much in the way of potential partners for Sakura so far.
