After one and a half years, EXO surprised their fans with a special release of their "Don't Fight the Feeling" following their 2019 "Obsession." The K-pop group caused fans to be emotional as it presented members D.O., Lay, and Xiumin again nearly two years since "Don't Mess Up My Tempo."

EXO's "Don't Fight The Feeling" features five tracks: the title song, "Just As Usual," "No Matter What," "Paradise," and "Runaway." It also includes surprises and special activities for fans, one of which is an inspiration of Space Invaders, the web mini-game "EXO Space-Saga."

The only saddening part this time is that they came back without two of their remaining members. Although Suho and Chen failed to join them due to obligatory military service, EXO-Ls remain hopeful that the group would offer a nine-member comeback within this year.

Can EXO Make a Comeback as Full-Group This Year?

Unfortunately for fans who want Suho and Chen to join an EXO comeback this 2021, the idea is highly unlikely to happen. The two members need to continuously serve the military until February and April next year, respectively.

However, it is possible for them to release another single before this year ends. It is worth noting that the group unceasingly gives their fans several singles in a year. For instance, they managed to release three albums back in 2013 – "Mama," "XOXO," and "Growl."

For now, fans can only wait until an OT9 comeback finally happens around 2026 or 2027 once all members finally complete their military service.

Despite not being able to return as a whole group, EXO's comeback is actually more special than everyone could imagine.

The "Don't Fight The Feeling" album served as the group's surprise gift for their fans as part of their ninth-anniversary celebration in April. Although the album came a little late, they offered a spoiler of their L-1485 project on their anniversary.

In addition, it marked Lay's return since he went on hiatus from almost all EXO activities in 2016. His appearance led to fans offering reaction videos to the title song's official music video and crying as soon as the member appeared on the screen.

While some fans thought he would be leaving the group just like its former Chinese members, Luhan and Kris, Lay came back after successfully embarking on his journey on solo music and acting careers.
