Indiana Jones 5 Official Runtime Will Be Longer Than Expected

In just several weeks, we're finally going to witness Harrison Ford's final adventure as the iconic archeologist in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. Not only it will be the actor's last hurrah as the iconic character, but it is also set to be the final film in the franchise.

Around last month, we learned that the last Indiana Jones movie will be longer than any of the other films in the franchise as Kathleen Kennedy revealed that Dial of Destiny will have a runtime of around 2 hours and 22 minutes or 142 minutes.

Now, as we're getting closer to its release, we now have the word on its official runtime and it looks like it will be longer than we initially thought as One Take News reported that Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will be 154 minutes long or 2 hours and 34 minutes.

The report clarified that the 154-minute runtime includes the entire runtime while the previous number that Kennedy revealed did not include the credits yet which is why the official number is now longer than what she mentioned.

As a result of this lengthy runtime, Dial of Destiny is also going to be the longest film in the Indiana Jones franchise and it also follows the trends of many tentpole films recently where the runtime has also been way longer than two hours.

Given that it will be Ford's final film as Indiana Jones, a lengthy runtime might not be an issue for fans and the audience. If any, it does indicate that his final adventure will be epic and potentially has a bigger scale than ever before.

The film's synopsis reads: "In 1969, American archaeologist and adventurer Indiana Jones lives against the backdrop of the Space Race."

"Jones is uneasy over the fact that the U.S. government has recruited former Nazis to help beat the Soviet Union in the competition to make it to space. His goddaughter, Helena Shaw, accompanies him on his journey."

"Meanwhile, Jürgen Voller, a NASA member and ex-Nazi involved with the moon-landing program, wishes to make the world into a better place as he sees fit."

Besides Ford, the cast also includes Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Antonio Banderas, John Rhys-Davies, Shaunette Renee Wilson, Thomas Kretschmann, Toby Jones, Boyd Holbrook, Oliver Richters, Ethann Isidore, and Mads Mikkelsen.
