I Am Groot is coming very soon. The Guardians of the Galaxy spin-off series focusing on the fan-favorite character just got an awesome new poster and it reveals the show's release date on Disney+!
The new poster for I Am Groot was shared by the official Marvel Entertainment Twitter account and it shows a very relaxed Groot. Interestingly, the post also confirms the show's release date. Check it out below.
It's great to know that I Am Groot is finally set to premiere in August. Although the episode count has not yet been revealed, we could be getting new details about the highly anticipated series soon. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
I Am Groot is created by Ryan Little who also serves as head writer. The animated series will focus on Groot but will also feature characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The shorts will be directed by Kirsten Lepore and it has also been confirmed that Vin Diesel will return to provide the voice of the Guardian of the Galaxy.
The new MCU series will consist of animated shorts and each short will follow Baby Groot as he grows up in the galaxy. Naturally, we'll be seeing the character going on adventures with new and unusual characters that somehow get him into trouble.
Groot was first introduced in the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie and although the original character died in the film, Rocket Raccoon was able to save a twig that would grow into Baby Groot. Although Groot is currently a teenager in the MCU timeline, the new show is expected to take place between Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Avengers: Infinity War.
I Am Groot will premiere on Disney+ on August 10, 2022.
