James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is one of the many highly-anticipated films of MCU's Phase 4. The upcoming threequel will sadly be the franchise's final film and also intends to be the darkest. Despite that, GOTG3 is set to introduce new MCU characters like Will Poulter's Adam Warlock, and recently, Gunn just confirmed another casting addition with The Suicide Squad’s Daniela Melchior.

James Gunn took to Twitter and confirmed that Daniela Melchior will be starring in a mysterious role for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. See Gunn's tweet below:

In response, Melchior retweeted Gunn's statement and wrote, "Omg I’m shocked with this tweet and that this secret just got out. I’ll keep your kind words in my heart [James Gunn] AND YES I CONFIRM TOO THAT I’M IN GUARDIANS BABYYYYYYY"

However, now that Melchior is confirmed for the GOTG3, fans are now wondering which Marvel character the actress would be playing. While Gunn hasn't yet unveiled anything yet about Melchior's role, fans seem convinced that the actress will be playing MCU's Moondragon.

To address the casting rumor, Gunn replied to a tweet that claims that Melchior's bald BTS photos from early 2022 indicate that the actress will be Moondragon on GOTG3 which Gunn candidly debunked, "I never said she wasn’t part of the cast. I said she wasn’t Moondragon. That is still true."

In a separate tweet, "I’ve never lied to the fans and never will," Gunn clarified.

Although James Gunn has been responsive to the fans' enthusiasm over his blockbuster films, Gunn is also upfront about spilling details, which is something hard to find in directors these days. While fans try to divulge what Daniel Melchior will be playing on the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3, it will surely unfold when the film hit theaters in 2023.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will premiere in theaters on May 5, 2023.
