The heart-warming high school romance comedy animated series of Horimiya has been continuously captivating its fans and viewers with the exhilarating romance surrounding the story of Hori and Miyamura.
Horimiya is an animated series based off on a manga series of the same name as Hiroki Adachi where viewers and critics are finding it totally relatable and the series is receiving great feedback so far. It seems as if its production studio has found a rare gem in the series as it is well-loved by most.
Horimiya follows the story of Kyouko Hori, a brilliant secondary school girl who happens to be the second parent of her younger brother Souta and is too drawn into household chores to even have a life outside of her home.
Izumi Miyamura, on the other hand, studies in the same school as to Hori who struggles with his studies as he is the least picked person in the room when it comes to group works. Hiding behind a geeky-wearing façade with tattoos, piercings, and long hair is a gentle brooding otaku who is a loner.
Hori and Miyamura cross paths and they venture into the world where everybody keeps something in their closets just waiting to be loved and accepted. The polar opposites slowly fall in love with each other and eventually being in a relationship.
Season 1 of Horimiya is currently in its sixth episode and just like that, the story of Hori and Miyamura is nearing the mid-season mark as the whole series is slated to have thirteen (13) episodes which debuted last January 9, 2021.
Each episode has a title closely related to what each episode will be having, giving a glimpse of what will happen throughout the episode. With only six episodes, five already released and the sixth about to be released this weekend, there are only six episodes with a title to date.
The titles are in a consecutive sequence as to each episode: A Tiny Happenstance, You Wear More Than One Face, That's Why It's Okay, Everybody Loves Somebody, and I Can't Say It Out Loud.
Each episode starts with the opening song of Yoh Kamiyama, Color Perfume, which fits perfectly the story of Hori and Miyamura, adding to the light and heartfelt story the element of music which blends in just right.
Although a second season is still in the shadows and is not yet confirmed, there is still more to the story of Horimiya as the manga series is still ongoing with a few more chapters waiting to be released. Considering that there are only 13 episodes in the first season, it would be hard to cover all that there is in the material that the manga has.
Horimiya is also slated to have an English dub release as Funimation recently announced its English dub cast.
Horimiya Episode 6 comes in just right for Valentine's day as Valentine's treat to viewers, especially to those with premium access to Funimation, as it is slated for release on February 14, 2021, at 10:30 PM EST/ 12:30 PM JST. It will be available for free and for all on February 21, 2021.
