Former Superman actor Henry Cavill is reportedly playing a variant of Wolverine in the upcoming MCU film Deadpool and Wolverine.
Ever since the actor exited from his DC role, there have been numerous rumors online that he is in talks to join the Marvel Universe and fans have been clamoring to see him be part of that franchise.
The rumor ignited further a few weeks ago as a well-known insider claimed that Cavill has already signed on to join the MCU for a mysterious role.

Henry Cavill is Playing Wolverine in Deadpool and Wolverine According to New Report
Giant Freakin Robot first reported that Cavill is set to play a multiverse variant of Wolverine in Deadpool and Wolverine.
They noted that his version of the fan-favorite mutant will be "wearing a long brown coat" when he shows up on the screen.
Well-known insider @CanWeGetToast corroborated the report on X as they also claimed that Cavill will indeed play a Wolverine variant in the MCU film and "fans will be very pleased with his appearance."
So far, neither Marvel Studios nor Cavill's team have commented on the reports of his rumored MCU casting.
If the report ends up being true, a lot of fans will definitely be happy to see him join the MCU and play a fan-favorite Marvel character since they've been wanting him to be part of the franchise.
Some fans have also wanted to see Cavill become the MCU's Wolverine and his potential appearance might be an opportunity for them to get a glimpse of how he would fare well in that role.
It is likely that we won't be hearing a confirmation on the report until we see the film ourselves since Marvel Studios might opt to keep it as a surprise.
Deadpool and Wolverine is set to arrive in theaters this July 26.
