Henry Cavill is reportedly jumping ship to the MCU with a mysterious role according to a recent scoop. He first made his mark in the comic book genre thanks to his beloved role as Superman in the DCEU.
The actor first played the DC hero in Man of Steel and ended with a surprise mid-credits scene appearance in Black Adam which teased his supposed future in the franchise.
However, right after the film's release, the DC franchise was rebooted with the new DCU under James Gunn and Peter Safran and it was announced that the role of Superman will be recast with a different actor.
Since then, Cavill moved on to other projects. Now, it looks like he might make his comeback in the comic book genre as he is reportedly jumping ship to DC's rivals Marvel.

Former DC Star Henry Cavill Reportedly Accepted an Offer to Join the MCU
X user @blurayangel recently posted his fan-cast of Cavill as Doctor Doom in the MCU debut of Fantastic Four as he suggested that it would be an "insane casting" if the actor went from playing the "greatest superhero" to "greatest Marvel villain."
Insider @MyTimeToShineH weighed in and claimed that the actor had already been offered another role in the MCU and accepted it.
"He was offered something else and he accepted," they wrote in their post.
The scoop prompted a lot of responses from fans as they shared their guess on which character Cavill might play in the MCU.
Captain Britain, Hyperion, Nova, and Cyclops are some of the common guesses that you can see in the replies.
Hours after the post became viral, @MyTimeToShineH responded with, "Most of your guesses are wrong." However, they retracted it later, "Actually, my bad, some of you guessed it right."
So far, Marvel Studios has not made any confirmation on Cavill's alleged casting in the MCU.
If the scoop is true, it looks like we may see the former Superman actor in the MCU soon and it is interesting to see whether it's a hero again or a villain this time, which would be an exciting direction for him.
Given how his tenure as Superman was polarizing, this could also be Cavill's chance to redeem his comic book movie run and take another shot through the Marvel sandbox.
