Hell’s Paradise is not exactly a romance anime, but it sure explored a lot of relationships.
MAPPA’s Hell's Paradise is a dark-action shounen anime based on Yuji Kaku’s manga of the same name.

Sagiri and Gabimaru's Relationship
We're all aware that Sagiri and Gabimaru's relationship exists solely to recover the Elixir of Life from Shinsenkyo.
It's all business, as one would expect from Yamada Asaemon and her criminal, who is set to have his head chopped off by the law.
She regards Gabimaru as a convicted felon and does not consider him a friend.
Sagiri was never interested in him, not because he was already married but because she was in charge of Gabimaru's life.
She has no opinion about Gabimaru, but she believes she can learn a lot from him, even if she doesn't admit it.
Gabimaru, for example, taught Sagiri that rules exist to constrain her; she should not always follow them.
Living by the rules is a depressing and monotonous way of life, and Gabimaru had no choice but to enlighten Sagiri.
At first glance, no one would think that Sagiri and Gabimaru may end up together.
Their appearances, let alone their manners and attitudes, do not complement each other.
Sagiri exuded a calm and disciplined atmosphere, whereas Gabimaru exuded a chaotic and crude demeanor.
They also bicker with one another, even in the face of adversity, as though they have been married for a long time, at least in Yuzuriha's opinion.
They planned to murder each other at first, but as they became closer on the island, everything changed.
Obviously, they had to rely on one another to survive and return home.
Sagiri and Gabimaru had to constantly save each other. They had each other's backs, even sharing each other's Tao, or life energy, to achieve their goals.
Each of them matured as a character, and it was refreshing to watch them collaborate despite their opposing viewpoints on life.
Gabimaru was taught by Sagiri, and vice versa.
Sadly, for those who were rooting for Sagiri and Gabimaru, they didn’t end up together.
But still, the two of them had become friends and would forever have each other’s backs.

Sagiri and the Other Yamada Asaemons' Relationship
This included her father, who was enraged to watch her pick up a blade and behead someone.
In Sagiri's time, she was expected to be like Yui, the eighth daughter of Iwagakure's chief and Gabimaru's wife.
She was meant to bear children in order to carry on her family's legacy for the sake of future generations.
But due to her mindset and strong conviction in life, Sagiri fought to become where she is today.
Despite the fact that no one believes in her except Shugen, Sagiri continues to fight for her beliefs and choices in life.
This is why Sagiri did not see any potential love interest in her fellow Yamada Asaemon.
She kept each and every relationship she had with them on a very professional and ethical level.
We used to think she had a crush on Eizen, but that's long gone.
We even expected her to be interested in Shion, but to cut a long story short, the two of them merely worked together to survive and return to the mainland.
If things had gone the other way, she may have ended up with Shugen.
However, this is debatable because Shugen treats everyone the same, and his principles are his first concern.

Sagiri and Yuzuriha's Relationship
Yuzuriha is very vocal about her love for Sagiri, but we believe that it’s only for fun and perhaps for yuri anime fans.
She isn't serious about Sagiri, and she merely admires her personality, commitment to saving Gabimaru, and attitude toward her horrible life.
Throughout the events of Hell’s Paradise, Yuzuriha has been affectionate with Sagiri.
Not only was she willing to break her rules for Sagiri, but she was also willing to sacrifice her life, even if she had a little sister waiting for her back home.
She really liked Sagiri, even giving her the nickname "Sagirin."
In turn, Sagiri didn’t mind Yuzuriha, and she is very thankful that the kunoichi was willing to fight for everyone.
Yuzuriha and Sagiri's relationship flourished, but not in the romantic sense.
In modern terms, we may say that the two of them have just become best friends.
So, Who Does Sagiri End Up With?
To wrap up, Sagiri did not end up with anyone in Hell’s Paradise.
She did not end up with Gabimaru, Yuzuriha, or even one of her fellow Yamada Asaemons.
She ends up with herself, living the life she wants in Hell’s Paradise.
Moreover, Sagiri embarked on a pilgrimage in the hopes that she would be able to improve her blade-testing abilities.
Sagiri doesn't need a guy to be happy; she is content with the independence she felt after Jikka took over and governed her entire clan.
