What Is Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku All About?
Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku is a historical anime with horror and dark fantasy elements, unfolding towards the end of Japan's Edo Period.
In it, we follow Gabimaru, a ninja so seemingly emotionless that he's known as Gabimaru the Hollow.
When he's sentenced to death, all attempts to end him mysteriously fail.
The Executioner Yamada Asaemon Sagiri determines that Gabimaru's love for his wife keeps him alive, so she decides to give him a chance at redemption.
Gabimaru gets to accompany Sagiri on an expedition to a seemingly idyllic faraway island in search of the elixir of life.
But while the island is believed to be paradise, Gabimaru, Sagiri, and other convict-executioner pairs find it to be a flowery, flesh-eating hell.
The island is inhabited by murderous flower people, carnivorous butterflies, and other eldritch horrors.
All convicts know that only one of them might survive: the one who navigates the island's terrors and finds the key to immortality.
Thus begins a violent, cutthroat but often heartbreaking operation in which no one is safe and no one can trust others -- not even their allies.

Will Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku Be Dubbed in English?
Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku is on Crunchyroll's list of Spring 2023 shows that will get an English dub.
Moreover, its specific English dub release date and voice cast have already been announced, so stay tuned for that!
Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku English Dub Release Date
Crunchyroll has now confirmed that Hell's Paradise Episode 1 will premiere in English on Saturday, April 15, 2023.
From there, a dubbed episode will be coming out each week.
Many popular shows get their dub premiere as soon as two weeks after the original Japanese version starts airing.
That was the case with Chainsaw Man -- also a studio MAPPA anime -- so we aren't surprised that the same happened with Hell's Paradise.
Will Hell's Paradise Be Dubbed in Other Languages?
Apart from the English dub, Crunchyroll has also confirmed that Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku will be getting dubs in German, French, Italian, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Castilian Spanish.
While the dubbed vs. subbed debate is still going strong, it's great to see more dubs in different languages to make anime more accessible to international fans.
Hell's Paradise English Dub Cast
Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku's English dub cast will feature Alejandro Jaab (also Terunori Kuga from Food Wars!) in the role of the main character, Gabimaru the Hollow.
He's accompanied by Marisa Duran (Jun Sasada from Natsume's Book of Friends) as Yamada Asaemon Sagiri.
Other confirmed cast members include:
- Jill Harris (Noelle from Black Clover) as Yuzuriha
- Nazeeh Tarsha (Miyabi Nagumo from Classroom of the Elite) as Chobei, the Bandit King
- Matt Shipman (Chrome from Dr. STONE) as Toma
- Reagan Murdock (the one and only Aki from Chainsaw Man) as Shion
- Ben Balmaceda (Aoshi Sanada from Orient) as Yamada Asaemon Tenza
- Cassie Ewulu (Akira from Kemono Jihen) as Nurugai
- Jordan Dash Cruz (Aoshi Tokimitsu from Blue Lock)as Yamada Asaemon Senta
