Hell's Paradise: A Flowery, Human-Eating Hell
For those who haven't started yet, Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku is a historical fantasy anime that follows Gabimaru the Hollow, a famously stoic ninja who is sentenced to death when the series begins.
Gabimaru claims to be at peace with his imminent death yet he stubbornly refuses to die as if something tethers him to life.
When all attempts to execute him fail, Sagiri, an Executioner of the Yamada clan, determines that Gabimaru still has someone to live for.
Moved by Gabimaru's secret love for his wife, Sagiri gives him a second chance at life.
Gabimaru gets to accompany Sagiri on an expedition to a seemingly idyllic faraway island in search of the elixir of life.
But while the island is thought to be paradise, Gabimaru, Sagiri, and the other convict-executioner pairs find it to be a flowery, human-eating hell.
The island is inhabited by murderous flower people, carnivorous butterflies, and other abominations.
Worse still, only one of the convicts facing these horrors can survive.

How Many Episodes Does Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku Have?
The first season of Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku has a total of 13 episodes. This is also evidenced by the show's MyAnimeList page entry.
Before that confirmation, reported leaks claimed that the anime would have a total of 24 episodes split into two cours.
To support this claim, many anime by studio MAPPA also received 24-episode adaptations.
In some cases, this was enough for the entire story, such as Dororo and Banana Fish.
For larger ongoing shounen works, 24 episodes were enough for a while, but not for the final product -- that's what Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 is for.
Chainsaw Man's episodes were half that, but it was an incredible production with a new closing song every episode, so it makes sense that the studio paced themselves for it.

Will There Be More Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku Episodes?
Shortly after the end of the first season, Hell's Paradise Season 2 was announced.
This was no surprise since 13 episodes are not enough to adapt the whole manga.
Earlier on, reported leaks from anime news accounts had claimed that Hell's Paradise would run for a split-cour anime season.
However, no official announcement has consolidated the above claim so far, so the release date of Season 2 would likely happen later as an entirely separate season.
In total, 24 seems to be a likely episode count for Hell's Paradise given MAPPA's patterns.
Because Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku is a completed manga with just 127 chapters, we could see it being adapted very well in around 24-26 episodes.
More episodes could be better for pacing reasons, but given studio and season constrictions, we'd be happy enough with two seasons.
