Hayden Christensen Rumored To Reprise Darth Vader Role in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story


Star Wars fans have been speculating Darth Vader's return in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Since the announcements of the costume designers working on the standalone film, we've known that the iconic villain would make an appearance in Rogue One. The Rogue One trailer even showed a hooded figure kneel with his back turned while two Imperial guards were standing in the corner.

Various sources say that Christen is set to return to play Darth Vader. When Collider and Complex recently interviewed Ewan McGregor, and seemed to confirm talks of an Obi-Wan spin-off film; like McGregor, Hayden's age perfectly falls in the Rogue One timeline, which is set betwen Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Episode IV: A New Hope. The Star Wars: The Force Awakens Visual Dictionary also hinted Hayden's possible return, as it revealed concept art that depicts Hayden as a Force ghost that is half-Anakin, half-Vader.

Last year, rumors that Christensen would return in Episode VIII surfaced online, but Lucasfilm and Disney haven't officially confirmed any information about his involvement. However, another actor was rumored to play Darth Vader in Rogue One.
