It has been nearly two years since the manga’s ending, and now, Hajime Isayama drew the first full Attack on Titan illustration for the latest Bessatsu Shonen Magazine.

While Isayama has drawn several Shingeki no Kyojin illustrations since the manga ended, this is the first full-color one that was made for the magazine’s cover.

A quick word of warning to anime-only fans – this new illustration features spoilers for the manga, albeit it’s something that likely only manga readers will understand.

Isayama’s manga began in 2009, and since then, the series has become one of the most popular manga titles in the world.

This is thanks in large part to the anime series adaptation, which took the world by storm back in 2013.

As the manga was serialized in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine, Attack on Titan was a regular sight to see on the cover.

After all, popular titles are often chosen to get illustrated on any manga magazine’s cover.

Of course, as the manga ended in early 2021, the last time we saw an Attack on Titan full-color illustration in the magazine was in the May 2021 issue.

Isayama seems to have taken a well-deserved break after the series ended, though he still participated in some series-related activities. This includes an appearance at Kodansha’s panel during Anime NYC 2022.

There, he shared a special illustration to mark the event. Along with this, he answered fan questions and even apologized for how the series ended in light of the manga’s controversial ending.

The manga may have finished its run back in 2021, but the anime series continued to adapt the story.

In fact, the anime is now set to end with The Final Season Part 3, though it is being further split into two halves.

To mark the anime’s upcoming finale, Hajime Isayama drew an illustration that features most of the major players during The Final Season.

It may not be spelled out exactly, but this image features spoilers for the manga’s ending.

Though without some context, it might not be readily apparent for those who haven’t read the manga yet.

Earlier today, more info on The Final Season Part 3 was revealed, including details about the first half’s release schedule.
