The Great Pretender sequel is finally coming in Winter 24, but before that, the series will first get special cinema screenings. Crunchyroll recently announced that it will bring the Great Pretender razbliuto anime to select US cinemas for a limited time.
This announcement follows the anime’s recent reveal. Along with the complete cinema list, Crunchyroll also shared a new trailer for the anime with English subtitles.
Great Pretender Finally Returns With a New Story and Cast
Wit Studio is perhaps best known for working on the first three seasons of Attack on Titan. The studio does have other notable titles aside from this, including the original Great Pretender anime.
This show was released on Netflix back in 2020, and despite getting praised for its unique style and engaging crime story, Wit Studio hasn’t gone back to the series in the following years.
That changed recently as Wit Studio finally revealed razbliuto, the follow-up to the first series.
Instead of being a direct sequel, this new anime will feature a standalone story, complete with new characters.
This new anime’s protagonist is Dorothy, a con artist voiced by Yuka Komatsu (Setsuna Higashi in PreCure All Stars).
Based on the trailer, it seems that some of the characters from the first season will return. For now, though, it isn’t clear how many episodes this new anime will have.

What is certain is that Crunchyroll will release the anime in select US cinemas from January 9-10, 2024. Here is the complete list of cinemas:

For now, there’s no info on how many episodes will be screened in the anime’s US theatrical run.
In Japan, Great Pretender razbliuto will be streamed on DMM beginning on February 23, 2024. The anime will be streamed outside of Japan on Crunchyroll.
Along with this, Wit Studio will be busy this coming year. Aside from the Suicide Squad Isekai anime, the studio will also work on the One Piece anime remake, which will be released in the future on Netflix.
