It has only been a week since the news was teased, and finally, Wit Studio announced the new Great Pretender razbliuto anime. This is an upcoming sequel to the studio’s 2020 original series, and it’s coming next year.
This upcoming sequel was revealed with a new trailer and teaser visual. The trailer doesn’t have much in the way of new footage, though it does feature the anime’s new main character.
Interestingly, the upcoming anime is not billed as a new season. This might indicate that the story will be standalone.
Great Pretender razbliuto Revealed With New Teaser Trailer
Wit Studio is well-known for animating the first three seasons of Attack on Titan and Spy x Family (in cooperation with CloverWorks). Aside from working on big franchises, the studio has also created several original titles.
Among these is Great Pretender, a Netflix-exclusive anime that was released in 2020. It might not have gotten as much hype as Wit’s other big shows, but it was praised for its unique art style and great animation.
It may have taken quite a long time, but finally, Great Pretender is getting a sequel titled razbliuto. You can check out its new teaser trailer here:
The teaser begins by showing the main characters from the first season. Then, the trailer finally reveals Dorothy, a gifted swindler who is going to be the sequel’s main character.
Based on the initial promo materials, it seems that Dorothy’s story will not be a direct follow-up to the events of the first season.
This, coupled with the fact that razbliuto is not billed as Great Pretender Season 2, it’s possible that this will be a standalone story.

Next Great Pretender Anime Will Not Be Netflix-Exclusive
The first Great Pretender season was streamed exclusively on Netflix, even in Japan. That won’t be the case with the sequel though, as razbliuto will debut in Japan on DMM TV.
Wit Studio’s new anime is also confirmed to be released worldwide. It’s not clear yet where it will be streamed outside of Japan.
More details will be announced this weekend at Anime NYC. Based on the anime’s first visual though, it looks like the characters from the first season will only play minor roles in this sequel.
Great Pretender razbliuto will be released sometime in 2024. For now, there’s no word yet on a specific release date or window.
