THE ONE PIECE Remake Anime Will Take Us Back to East Blue
As announced on One Piece’s stage event during Jump Festa 2024, the One Piece anime remake promises a refreshing take on Monkey D. Luffy’s adventures starting from East Blue, seemingly hinting that it will recreate further story arcs in the anime series, but this is not confirmed.
The East Blue Saga starts with Romance Dawn Arc, where the aspiring pirate king, Luffy, first made his anime appearance.
He was inside a floating barrel that was picked up by several of Alvida's hoodlums, who thought it was full of booze.
The Romance Dawn Arc also introduced Koby, the aspiring marine who was forced to serve under Alvida.
After Luffy rescued Koby, they arrived in Shells Town and discovered the pirate hunter, Roronoa Zoro, tied up without food within Captain Morgan's naval base.
After the Romance Dawn Arc, the East Blue Saga takes us to Orange Town, where the Buggy Pirates reign supreme. Nami also joined Luffy and Zoro, but not as an official member of the Straw Hat Pirates.
Then, Luffy, Nami, and Zoro find themselves in Syrup Village, in search of a much better ship to sail on. They encounter Usopp, the town’s liar, in addition to Kaya and her butler, Captain Kuro of the Black Cat Pirates.
Eventually, Usopp joined Luffy and the others, and they reached Baratie, a restaurant at sea. This is where they encounter Sanji and his mentor, Zeff.
Mihawk, one of the seven Warlords of the Sea, also made a lasting impression on viewers thanks to his showdown with Zoro.
On the other hand, the Arlong Park arc gave us Nami’s back story and all the things she did to help Cocoyashi village against the Arlong Pirates.
Of course, Luffy has to beat down Arlong to make Nami an official member of the Straw Hat Pirates.
Lastly, the East Blue Saga also brought us to Loguetown, where Captain Smoker and his right hand, Tashigi, try their best to capture the Straw Hat Pirates. Monkey D. Dragon also made an appearance to save Luffy.
