As announced in One Piece’s stage event during Jump Festa’24, THE ONE PIECE anime remake will adapt the events “starting from” East Blue Saga, hinting that it might cover more story arcs, but this is not confirmed.

The East Blue Saga has six canon story arcs, starting with the Romance Dawn Arc and ending with the Loguetown Arc. These six story arcs showed us how Luffy met the pirate hunter, Roronoa Zoro; the cat burglar, Nami; the frequent liar, Usopp; and the talented Baratie cook, Sanji.

In addition, the East Blue Saga also pitted Luffy against villains such as the Alvida Pirates, Buggy Pirates, Black Cat Pirates, Krieg Pirates, and, of course, the Arlong Pirates.

One of the seven warlords of the sea, Mihawk, also made an appearance that changed Zoro’s life. Shanks and his connection with Luffy were also revealed, in addition to Monkey D. Dragon’s first appearance in Loguetown.

In a joint statement, the THE ONE PIECE production committee promises to “provide viewers with a fresh yet familiar experience, utilizing cutting-edge visual technology to reimagine Luffy’s adventures through the beloved East Blue saga.”.

In case you didn’t know, another one-shot manga created by Eiichiro Oda will also have an anime adaptation entitled Monsters 103: Mercies Dragon Damnation. It will arrive in January and will be available on Netflix.

Wit Studio will be working on THE ONE PIECE anime remake instead of Toei Animation, which has done all the animation work for One Piece throughout the years.

Wit Studio is a widely popular animation studio thanks to their production on anime shows like Attack on Titan, Spy x Family (collaborated with CloverWorks), Vinland Saga, Owari no Seraph, Ranking of Kings, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, and more.
