Gina Carano Using the Jewish Holocaust to Make a Political Statement Was the Final Straw For Lucasfilm

The internet went into a frenzy after Lucasfilm has officially reported that Gina Carano was fired from the hit Disney+ series The Mandalorian. The news came after weeks of people campaigning for the actress to be fired after airing her ‘controversial' views.

Ever since the actress aired her opinions on various political and social issues, the hashtag #FireGinaCarano became the go-to phrase. The mixed-martial artist turned actress was already involved in various online controversies because of her political views.

The actress was vocal in expressing her disbelief of the main-in votes and the COVID-19 vaccine. Since then, people have been asking her to be removed from the franchise. Despite the previous social media posts, Lucasfilm did not take any action and continued to have the actress play Cara Dune.

A new report claims that Lucasfilm has been looking at firing Carano as early as November. However, the final straw for Lucasfilm, or might I say, the straw that broke the camel's back was when Carano posted a picture with a text comparing having a different political opinion in the United States, to being a Jewish in the Holocaust.

A Twitter user compiled some of Carano's post in this tweet:

Lucasfilm confirmed that the actress was fired, "Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future. Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable."

The internet was divided in the issue. Some fans were celebrating but others vowed to boycottThe Mandalorian and cancel their Disney+ subscription. Fans supporting Carano even started using the hashtag #BoycottMandalorian.

Carano is an outspoken Republican and polarizing celebrity which can be attributed to her different political views. Even though it may look like she is hated by many, Carano has a fanbase that supports her which means that even if she is no longer in The Mandalorian, the actress has chances of recovering soon.

The actress hasn't released an official statement as of the moment.
