Game of Thrones Actor Returns in House of the Dragon as Another Memorable Character

There were a lot of awesome new things to look forward to in House of the Dragon Episode 3. However, the episode also reminded us that the series is still connected to the original show. Second of His Name just introduced Jefferson Hall as Jason and Tyland Lannister, who previously appeared in Game of Thrones in a truly memorable role!

In House of the Dragon Episode 3, it was revealed that the Lord of Casterly Rock Jason Lannister was trying to woo Rhaenyra Targaryen who he wants to have as his wife. The episode also introduced his twin brother Tyland who serves as the master of ships for King Viserys I Targaryen's small council. Both characters were played by Jefferson Hall, who previously appeared in Game of Thrones as the tragic Ser Hugh of the Vale.

Hugh was only in one episode of Game of Thrones Season 1 but his scene was a truly memorable one. During the Hand's tourney, Ned Stark needed to speak with Hugh as he was the squire of Jon Arryn and might share some light on the former Hand's death. However, the newly knighted Ser Hugh of the Vale went up against Ser Gregor Clegane and was skewered in the neck when the Mountain's lance rode up. Hugh's death was one of the first bloody scenes in the show.

For now, it isn't clear if Jason and Tyland Lannister will play a larger role in House of the Dragon. However, there is little doubt we'll see more of the twins in the upcoming episodes. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

House of the Dragon Episode 3 is now on HBO. House of the Dragon Episode 4 is titled King of the Narrow Sea. The new episode will premiere on HBO on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at 9:00 PM EST.
