The third episode of House of the Dragon was a truly explosive one as Daemon Targaryen and Corlys Velaryon finally won the War of the Stepstones. So what is going to happen next? The preview for House of the Dragon Episode 4 confirms that the King of the Narrow Sea will finally make an appearance in the Game of Thrones prequel.
The House of the Dragon Episode 4 preview was dropped right after the current episode concluded and it offers a conundrum: Who will be the true heir? Will it be King Viserys I Targaryen's brother, daughter, or baby son?
Interestingly, the preview confirms that Daemon Targaryen will return to King's Landing in House of the Dragon Episode 4. The prince also reveals to Viserys that he has been named King of the Narrow Sea.
The title was undoubtedly given to Daemon after he killed Craghas Drahar aka Crabfeeder and defeated the Triarchy in the War of the Stepstones. In the book, Daemon's full title is King of the Stepstones and the Narrow Sea but perhaps he'll be satisfied with being the ruler of the Narrow Sea in the series.
Daemon's return also means that he believes he still has a claim to the Iron Throne despite Viserys refusing to choose another heir after Rhaenyra's naming. Still, it looks like Daemon isn't one to give up so easily and he has another trick up his sleeve.
The House of the Dragon Episode 4 preview also teased a horrible rumor going around King's Landing and it might have something to do with Rhaenyra. We'll find out what it is next week.
House of the Dragon Episode 3 is now on HBO. House of the Dragon Episode 4 is titled King of the Narrow Sea. The new episode will premiere on HBO on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at 9:00 PM EST.
