Gal Gadot Reportedly Returning as Wonder Woman in 2023 DC Film

After the release of Wonder Woman 1984 back in 2020, Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman's next step in the DCEU remains to be unknown although her third solo film is already in development with Patty Jenkins returning in the director's chair. Now, it looks like her comeback has been set as she might show up in an upcoming DCEU film next year.

As reported by The Direct, according to Devin Faraci in the Marvelvision Podcast, Gal Gadot is set to make her return as Wonder Woman in next year's Shazam! Fury of the Gods. While they didn't provide specific details regarding the circumstances of her involvement in the film, they did indicate that it will be a "not insignificant role."

"Following up on the scoop that we had last episode about Wonder Woman appearing in [Shazam! Fury of the Gods], last week we didn't know what kind of role she'd play, I can now tell you that she has a not insignificant role in the movie, including at least one action scene," Faraci said in the podcast.

So far, neither Warner Bros. nor anyone involved in the making of the film has confirmed Faraci's scoop so we still have to take it with a grain of salt for now. However, one of the film's stars Rachel Zegler has previously teased in an interview that Gadot may appear in the upcoming sequel.

If the scoop is true, it looks like Wonder Woman's potential appearance in the film won't just be a cameo role and she will have some sort of significant involvement in the plot of the film. Considering that the sequel will have the daughters of Atlas, it will be fitting to have Wonder Woman show up in the film.

Obviously, we will never know the truth if the beloved DC hero actually shows up in the film until we finally see it since it is likely that Warner Bros. will keep her involvement under wraps and make it a surprise to the audience.
