Gabriel Luna Eager to Return as Ghost Rider in the MCU

There is little doubt that people are hoping that characters from cancelled Marvel shows will return in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After all, it happened to Daredevil and Kingpin in 2021. So what are the chances that Ghost Rider will be brought back into the MCU? Gabriel Luna has opened up about the possibility of reprising his role as Robbie Reyes in a future project.

Gabriel Luna was introduced as Robbie Reyes in the fourth season of Agents of SHIELD and Ghost Rider was supposed to get his own spin-off series on Hulu back in 2019. However, the streaming service decided not to move forward with the project later the same year.

So is there any chance that we'll get to see Ghost Rider again, possibly in the MCU? Gabriel Luna told Comicbook.com that he is eager to revisit the character in any way possible after what happened in Agents of SHIELD.

"You know, I think that the way we left it... I would definitely think that there's a lot more to say," Luna said.

"I loved the response. Everyone loved Robbie and they loved the character. And if we only ever did those ten episodes and nothing else, I would feel very complete with what we were able to do," he continued. "To bring awareness to the character, to show people a Mexican-American hero -- the first on television, I believe. I know that's said a lot but I think people forget about 2016 when we did that with Robbie. But he's a wonderful character and I love him. I'd absolutely be happy to continue."

We would certainly love to see Ghost Rider again in the future. However, Marvel Studios has yet to confirm if there are any plans to bring the character back. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

Gabriel Luna will play Tommy in The Last of Us, which premieres on HBO on January 15, 2023.
