Things have been exciting for Daredevil fans lately. The previous week saw a tease of Kingpin's arrival in Hawkeye AND Matt Murdock's big cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home. So can we expect to see Wilson Fisk facing off against the Devil of Hell's Kitchen in a future Marvel Cinematic Universe project? Vincent D'onofrio addressed his possible reunion with Daredevil co-star Charlie Cox in the MCU.
There is little doubt that Kingpin was Matt Murdock's greatest adversary in Daredevil and the two fought each other several times throughout the Netflix show's three seasons. So it's no surprise that people are already wondering if the two characters will meet again now that they have returned to the MCU.
But what are the chances that we'll get another Daredevil vs Kingpin fight in the future? Vincent D'onofrio admitted to TVLine that he would like to work with Charlie Cox again. However, he was also quick to point out that he is still uncertain about Wilson Fisk's future.
"I would love for that," D'onofrio said of the possible reunion between Wilson Fisk and Matt Murdock. He then admitted that he wasn't even expecting to return after Daredevil's cancellation.
"It hasn’t crossed my mind a lot; I’ve kind of walked away from Daredevil. For a bit, I thought it might come back, but it’s been years now. I gave up on that [possibility]," D'onofrio continued. However, he also shared that he wasn't expecting to be contacted by the Marvel Studios big boss Kevin Feige.
"I didn’t know that I was going to get a call from Kevin, either, so everything’s up for grabs. I had no idea that I would do Hawkeye," D'onofrio stated.
At this point, we know this guy is good at keeping secrets (he repeatedly denied returning as Kingpin in Hawkeye) so we won't take D'onofrio's word for it right now. In the meantime, we'll be holding on to hope that Fisk and Murdock are due an epic reunion in the MCU.
All episodes of Hawkeye are now streaming on Disney+.
