What Happened Before Frieren Episode 23?
The title of Frieren episode 22 is Future Enemies, and it begins with Genau announcing the results of the first stage of the mage examinations.
The following day, Fern is in a bad mood after Frieren and Stark overslept. To cheer Fern up, Frieren thought of bringing her to a restaurant she once dined in with Himmel and the others 80 years ago.
Meanwhile, Denken and Laufen meet with Richter to find the same restaurant in town.
Ubel, on the other hand, talks with Land about their types of magic. Ubel says she can’t use another mage’s magic if she doesn’t empathize with them, which explains why she didn’t kill Wirbel during the ambush.
In the Bell restaurant, Frieren remembers how the Hero’s Party talked with the talented chef.
She orders a huge plate of steak, while Fern splurges on desserts, and Stark orders a huge omelet. Denken and the others are also there, enjoying their time off to eat.
The next day, Fern is in a bad mood again after Frieren overslept despite being in charge of shopping. Frieren asks Stark to talk to Fern, but the latter says she wants to eat some snacks.
As Frieren’s party searched for snacks to cheer Fern on, they stumbled upon Lawine and Kanne.
The duo joined Frieren’s party on the way back to the inn. But before they reached their destination, they all stumbled upon Wirbel and Scharf, who were looking for a vanguard.
Wirbel recruits Stark to finish the request of the Continental Magic Association, much to the latter’s dismay.
While Stark gets busy with Wirbel and Scharf, Frieren and the others talk about the experiences they had during the first stage of the exams.
Lawine and Kanne are grateful for Frieren, but they know that they’ll be rivals in the succeeding stage of the exams.
That’s when a bird comes into the window and drops the notice for the second stage of the exams. Sense will be in charge of it, and Lawine remarks that no one has ever passed her exams.
