Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Part 2 introduced new characters participating in the First-Class Mage exam along with Frieren and Fern. One of them is Ubel, who is quite the troublemaker. So, how strong is Ubel in Frieren?

Meet Ubel, the Mage With a Horrifying Reputation!
Ubel first made an appearance on Frieren Episode 18. She was about to be attacked by foolish bandits, but Monk Kraft came before they could do anything to her.
While some would think that Kraft saved Ubel, he actually saved the lives of the bandits. Ubel has the eyes of a killer, and she is the mage responsible for the torn-up bodies of bandits Kraft saw in the woods.
She is an incredibly skilled mage who failed in her second-class mage examinations after killing the first-class mage proctor, Burg.
Her killing intent can intimidate anyone; it's as if she’s always plotting a deadly act toward the people she interacts with.
A certified troublemaker, Ubel will not hesitate to kill anyone without remorse.
Despite everything, Ubel is a good team player who can easily put her trust in others and utilize their abilities efficiently. This makes her one of the strongest characters in the series.
How Strong Is Ubel in Frieren?
Among the participants in the First-Class Mage exam, Ubel stands out due to her appearance and unique abilities.
She can copy other mage’s spells by understanding their nature and feelings. Even if Ubel doesn’t know how this ability of hers works, she has no problem using it to her advantage.
Ubel is also known for her cleaving magic, particularly her spell called Reelseiden. It is invisible to the naked eye, but it cuts through everything, as long as Ubel can visualize it.
In fact, Ubel was able to cut through Burg’s immovable cloak and kill him easily. This kind of magic may be simple, but its trajectory is almost impossible to follow.
On the other hand, Ubel can also use the binding spell, Sorganeel, to hold her target in place against their will. This includes Wirbel, whom she was incredibly interested in.
In addition, Ubel is a quick thinker who can come up with competent strategies to turn the tables in her favor promptly.
When Ubel was young, she developed a fascination with scissors and how they ran smoothly against cloth, in addition to the sound they made.
This influenced Ubel’s magic specialization and visualization abilities in the long run.
