First Kill Fans Against Netflix’s Cancellation of Show, Trends 'Free First Kill' on Twitter

Netflix’s TV show First Kill was released on June 10, 2022 with its first season containing 8 episodes. The fans were devastated at how the studio once again canceled a widely beloved show where they had been rooting for the star couple, Juliette (played by Sarah Catherine Hook) and Calliope (played by Imani Lewis), to be endgame in spite of ancient rivalry between their families.

The show is based on one of author V.E. Schwab’s short stories with the same title, published in 2020, as part of a collection of stories called Vampires Never Get Old: Tales with Fresh Bite.

First Kill is an American supernatural series that centers around the high school main protagonist, Juliette, who had been keeping her secret identity as a vampire for ages, as an attempt to live like a normal teenager. In doing so, she had been restraining herself from consuming human blood with the replacement of pills to satisfy her thirst. The pills had been working for her, until she met Calliope. Unfortunately, Calliope comes from a family of monster hunters — deeming them as star-crossed lovers.

The reason behind the cancellation after its first season was, apparently, based on its low viewership. However, fans beg to disagree.

When First Kill was announced its cancellation on August 2, 2022, fans were quick to pull up evidence that First Kill accumulated over 100 million hours of viewership, even so far as to have topped on Top 10 TV chart upon its first weeks of release.

Recently, enraged fans continue to raise this issue to bring back their favorite show by replying on Netflix’s other promotional materials.

On Bridgerton,

On The Empress,

and even on a Season 2 post of Fate: The Winx Saga.

In fact, fans are even trying other options to revive the show: by calling out the attention to Freeform TV to transfer First Kill.

In the meantime, First Kill Season 1 is still available to stream on Netflix.
