One Piece is one of the most beloved manga series ever as it has a fanbase that stretches across the world. Aside from being acclaimed by fans, Final Fantasy producer Naoki Yoshida heaped praise on One Piece.

Back in April, Yoshida (aka YoshiP) went live on the Final Fantasy 14 YouTube channel to share updates on the game. While the stream centered on new content for the game, it also featured a casual discussion with Yoshida.

During the discussion, the Final Fantasy producer mentioned how he is excited about One Piece lately and that he has been recommending the manga to all of his acquaintances (via DualShockers).

He also specifically mentioned how he believes creator Eiichiro Oda will never disappoint given how Oda’s writing has continued to impress over the years.

YoshiP also said that he hasn’t been this excited about a Shonen Jump manga since the classic 90s manga, Slam Dunk.

Finally, YoshiP ended the talk by saying how he wished that all of humanity would read One Piece. High praise indeed, especially from a renowned game producer such as himself.

In case you’re unfamiliar, Yoshida is the producer of Final Fantasy 14 and the director of the upcoming Final Fantasy 16.

Yoshida is credited for “saving” Final Fantasy 14 after the game’s initial release which was widely criticized. Once he went on board, FF14 was relaunched and soon became a massive success.

The newest entry in the franchise is One Piece Film: Red, the fifteenth feature film. It premiered in Japan on August 6, 2022, and after just 10 days, it became the highest-earning One Piece movie ever.

Fans in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, and more will be able to watch the movie in cinemas in Fall 2022.
