Ewan McGregor remains hopeful that he will be making his Star Wars return despite the lack of plans for season 2 of Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Ever since the six-episode series ended its run in 2022, the Obi-Wan Kenobi actor has expressed his interest in reprising the role again for a potential season 2 in various interviews.
However, so far, Lucasfilm has no plans to continue the series. The recent physical media release also shot down the possibility of a second season as they billed Obi-Wan Kenobi as "The Complete Series."

Ewan McGregor Hopeful for Another Star Wars Return
In an interview with LADbible, McGregor opened up about his potential return as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars franchise.
The actor expressed his optimism that he will be able to reprise his iconic role in the future whether it's in a season 2 of the series or another project.
"The truth is I've talked about having to cover for doing the Obi-Wan season for years, I had to lie about that and I'm not lying about this now," McGregor said.
"I don't know. There's been no phone call to me from Lucasfilm, or Disney saying, ‘Let's do another one’. Obi-Wan was made as a limited series and it's out and people like it, which I'm very, very pleased about."
The actor added, "I love doing it. I hope we get a chance to do another one and I'm sure we will. I'm pretty sure, you know, I've got a few years yet before I'm the same age as Alec Guinness was in A New Hope. So there's time to tell more stories in there."
This is in alignment with McGregor's past comments where he continuously expressed his interest in reprising the role again as he is not ready to give up his tenure in the Star Wars franchise.
Despite the mixed reviews of the series, a lot of fans would still be open to seeing McGregor return to the role again and perhaps Lucasfilm will eventually decide to develop another Kenobi project again down the line once they come up with a great idea.
