A second season of the Star Wars series Obi-Wan Kenobi is now unlikely to happen according to a recent announcement surrounding its physical media release.
Ever since the six-episode series aired in 2022, Ewan McGregor has been clamoring to do a second season and reprise the titular role for more adventures in the galaxy far, far away.
However, Lucasfilm remains adamant that the series will stay as limited and a new announcement made it more clear that it won't be getting another season.

Obi-Wan Kenobi Blu-ray Billed as 'The Complete Series'
Lucasfilm recently announced that Obi-Wan Kenobi and the first season of Andor are getting 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray and Blu-ray physical media releases. They are set to be available on April 30.
Interestingly enough, Obi-Wan Kenobi was billed as "The Complete Series" in its title on the cover, which suggests that it will indeed stay as a six-episode limited series.
This is an indication that Lucasfilm has closed the doors on any possibility of a second season of the series since they called the six episodes "complete" and did not give any hint of a second season.
In comparison, the MCU Disney+ series Moon Knight and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier were billed as "The Complete First Season" in their upcoming physical media releases.
So far, Marvel Studios has not announced a second season renewal for each series but the title on the cover is likely suggesting that they are open to continuing it at some point.
After several months of clamoring and hope from some fans, it sounds like they should stop the anticipation for any news on a second season since that is now unlikely.
While it could be disappointing news, at the very least, Star Wars fans were able to witness McGregor's comeback as the Jedi Master and they can simply just rewatch all six episodes in either Disney+ or Blu-ray.
