Marvel Studios released the final trailer of the highly anticipated live-action adaptation of Eternals ahead of its release in November and thankfully, it finally answered arguably the biggest question the original teaser left unanswered — why didn't the Eternals show up to help the Avengers during the Thanos invasion? Turns out, they have a pretty good reason for it but despite laying dormant on Earth for centuries and choosing to live a civilian life, the celestial heroes are finally ready to come out of the shadows.

The film takes place following the events of Avengers: Endgame as the terrifying Deviants have once again surfaced with a plan to wreak havoc on Earth. Pretty convenient timing, right? You see, for the longest time, the Eternals have made a pact within themselves not to intervene in human affairs but everything changes after Tony Stark's heroic and sacrificial snap. According to Ajak herself, the snap created a massive surge of energy that was enough to awaken the Deviants from their sleep and would later cause the "Emergence" to begin.

Shockingly enough, Tony's snap which was meant to eradicate the Mad Titan himself and bring back all the innocent people taken by the "blip" might have done more harm than good. It'll be interesting to see how the so-called Emergence poses a threat not only to humanity but to the rest of the universe but the idea of the said catastrophic event forcing the Eternals to finally surface after centuries of trying to conceal their identities pretty much tells you that something serious is about to go down.

Marvel Studios' Eternals will hit cinemas in November.
