Marvel Studios' upcoming offering Eternals just released its final full-length trailer that pretty much answers the one question fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been asking for months now: why were the Eternals missing-in-action when Thanos was causing havoc on Earth? In case you didn't know, the Eternals have inhabited the Earth for centuries but they've always had one moral code and that is to not intervene in human affairs that don't concern them.

In the original teaser, it was revealed that the Eternals knew about Thanos' Terran invasion but chose not to intervene for reasons that weren't disclosed. Now, the latest trailer for the upcoming MCU film finally gives fans some much-needed clarity as to why Sersi and the rest of the Eternals didn't aid the Avengers when they could've easily taken the Mad Titan down. According to Sersi herself, they were "instructed not to interfere in any human conflicts unless Deviants were involved."

Despite that brief explanation, it still remains unclear why they chose not to intervene during the aforementioned events when Thanos clearly had the upper hand. Did they have faith that the Earth's Mightiest Heroes would eventually be able to defeat him or were they just protecting Thanos because he was somewhat related to them? Also, what are the deviants and how powerful are they exactly? I guess we'll just have to wait and see have it will all go down.

Marvel Studios' Eternals will hit cinemas in November.
