Attack on Titan is about to end soon, but before it ends, fans can look forward to a special interview with Eren Yeager, which will air on Japan’s public broadcaster, NHK, next week.
This upcoming interview will be released ahead of the anime’s proper finale, which will also be broadcast on NHK in early November.
This won’t be an interview with Eren’s VA. Based on the announcement, the interview will be with Eren Yeager himself, making him the first anime protagonist to be featured in NHK’s program.
NHK to Broadcast Special Attack on Titan Interview Ahead of Anime’s Finale
After several confusingly titled seasons, the Attack on Titan anime is finally ending this November with The Final Season Part 4’s release. This marks the end of an era given how influential the series has been.
Because it has become a huge global hit, Attack on Titan has been featured previously in NHK programs.
For instance, NHK World-Japan (NHK’s international arm) released a special interview feature of series creator Hajime Isayama. This was released for free a few months ago, and it sheds light on Isayama’s creative process.
Soon, Attack on Titan will once again be featured in NHK as part of the promotion for The Final Season Part 4. Instead of another interview with Isayama though, Eren Yeager will get the spotlight.
NHK recently announced that its The Professionals program will feature Eren in its next episode. This program typically puts the spotlight on professionals who work in various industries.
For its next episode, the show will focus on Eren Yeager’s daily life in the Survey Corps.

Eren Yeager Makes History as First Anime Character to Get NHK Feature
The program will focus on Eren Yeager's professional life as someone who “continues to struggle with his fate.”
In the program’s description, it’s also revealed that Mikasa, Armin, and Levi will be featured.
This is a historic episode as this marks the first time that an anime character will be featured in NHK’s long-running interview program.
Eren may be the first anime protagonist to get featured, but he is not the first fictional character to get an episode. Previously, The Professionals had an episode featuring the Vocaloid star Hatsune Miku.
The upcoming Eren Yeager special will be released on NHK on October 23 at 11:45 PM JST. There’s no word yet on whether this program will get a release outside of Japan.
As for the anime’s finale, The Final Season Part 4 will be released in Japan on November 4 at 24:00 JST (effectively November 5 at midnight).
