Dune Fans Freak Out Over Paul and Feyd-Rautha's Knife Duel in Part 2 Trailer

The first trailer for Dune: Part Two is finally here and it's giving fans a glimpse at Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen in action.

Not surprisingly, people are freaking out over Austin Butler's new look and it makes the knife duel between the warrior and Paul Atreides look very deadly.

There is a lot to unpack from the Dune: Part Two trailer as Paul finally bonds with Chani while Lady Jessica worries about her son's destiny.

Princess Irulan also wonders whether the heir of House Atreides is still alive and we get our first look at the bald Feyd-Rautha whose presence is even more imposing than his brother Glossu Rabban.

The highlight of the trailer is undoubtedly Paul's "not fancy" plan to ride a sandworm but people are also talking about the knife duel between Timothee Chalamet and Austin Butler, and for good reason.

Interestingly, the fight is presented in black-and-wait, and at one point, Feyd-Rautha roars at his opponent in the most terrifying way.

Still, Paul also knows how to intimidate the villain. "May thy knife chip and shatter," he says.

It's an awesome action-packed trailer but fans are understandably looking forward to the brutal knife duel.

Austin Butler's appearance in Dune: Part Two certainly shook some people including Baz Luhrmann, who previously worked with the actor for the film Elvis.

The filmmaker previously admitted he was terrified by the new look.

"What I also thought was 'It's so brave of him to take on such a radically-different character from Elvis," he continued. "It's a cleansing of the creative palate."

The sequel will bring back Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Charlotte Rampling, and Javier Bardem.

They will be joined by Florence Pugh, Austin Butler, Christopher Walken, Léa Seydoux, Souheila Yacoub, and Tim Blake Nelson.

Dune: Part Two is currently scheduled for theatrical release on November 3, 2023.
