Dragon Ball Super is currently trending in social media right now not just because of the latest manga chapter by series creator Akira Toriyama and artist Toyotarou; the popular shonen franchise has also hyped fans with the latest promotional push for the upcoming movie that's set to release in Japanese theaters this April. A new poster was revealed, and now, a new merchandise ad has confirmed that Gotenks, the powerful fusion of Goten and Trunks.
The update recently went live when Dragon Ball revealed some of its upcoming merchandise, and it was there UDM Burst unveiled two sets focused on Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. The merchandise ad features characters like Goku, Vegeta, Gamma 1, and Gamma 2 among others, but if you look closely at the figurines, you will notice Gotenks is shown.
However, this collection doesn't feature the original form of Gotenks, but instead it features one of the failed fusions, so it's Fat Gotenks featured here. This fusion looks the same as the one Goten and Trunks formed by accident back in Dragon Ball Z's Buu Saga.
The confirmation of Gotenks's appearance shouldn't surprise fans who have already seen the latest poster for Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, which featured teenaged Goten and Trunks in their fusion dance pose. The duo will most likely help the other Z-Fighters in the battle against the Red Ribbon Army and their new androids, Gamma 1 and Gamma 2.
Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is set to release in Japanese theaters on April 22, 2022. It was also announced that the movie is releasing in North American theaters this summer, and expect other regions to get official release dates soon.
