Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Producer Teases Its Master-Disciple Duo


Dragon Ball Super continues to hype fans for its upcoming movie, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, and now, a producer has teased about the "master-disciple duo" that will get their moment to shine. Goku and Vegeta won't be at the center of the story this time around, but instead we will see Gohan and Piccolo get their moments to shine as they fight the nefarious Red Ribbon Army and its powerful new androids, Gamma 1 and Gamma 2.

Akio Iyoku, one of the producers of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, contributed in Toei Animation's presentation this week, and it was there the executive told fans that the movie would focus heavily on Gohan and Piccolo..

"It's been almost 40 years since the start of the series but never has there been a work with so much heart," he said. "We are using a different approach to express visuals this time. The story is also centered around the master-disciple duo of Gohan and Piccolo."

As Toei Animation previously revealed, Gohan and Piccolo will have prominent roles in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. Other Z fighters like Pan and Krillin. Goku's son will most likely bring back his badass side that we've seen from Dragon Ball Z's Cell Saga. It's not surprising that Piccolo is also involved in a storyline where Gohan is at the center since he's been a mentor and father figure to the young Saiyan since the early days of Akira Toriyama's shonen franchise.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is scheduled to release in Japanese theaters on April 22, 2022. A North American release date hasn't been announced yet.
