After entering its sixth and latest arc back in late 2020, it seems that Dragon Ball Super is starting a new arc in October with the release of Chapter 88.
While the latest manga chapter has yet to be officially released, @DbsHype on Twitter recently revealed new info about Chapter 87. Specifically, it was mentioned that Chapter 87 serves as the end of the Granolah the Survivor arc.
Even if the latest chapter isn’t officially out yet, it’s no surprise that the current arc is ending if you follow the manga. The chapter’s title The Greatest Warrior in the Universe is Revealed is also a hint of how this is the end of the current arc.

Along with news of the Granolah arc’s end, @DbsHype also mentioned in a separate Tweet that the series will be on a break next month so illustrator Toyotaro can work on the new Dragon Ball Super arc.
Given the manga’s monthly release schedule, Chapter 88 is expected to release in October, meaning fans will have to wait a bit longer for the start of the new storyline.
Dragon Ball Super is a manga that serves as the sequel to the original Dragon Ball series. Super is written by Akira Toriyama and illustrated by Toyotaro. The series began back in June 2015 on V Jump.
Its story follows Goku and his family four years after the defeat of Majin Buu. While they lived those four years in peace, it did not last long as Beerus, God of Destruction arrives and seeks the warrior known as the Super Saiyan God.
Aside from being a popular manga, the series also received a TV anime adaptation by Toei which ran from July 2015 to March 2018. It then received two movies – Dragon Ball Super: Broly and Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.
Super Hero is the latest movie, and it was released in Japan on June 11, 2022. The film is set to release in the US and other countries soon.
