Dragon Ball Super: How Frieza Achieved His Most Powerful Form, Black Frieza

Dragon Ball Super's Granolah the Survivor Arc finally concluded with Frieza arriving in Planet Cereal to finish off Gas of the Heeter Force. Dragon Ball Super Chapter 87, titled The Universe's Strongest Appears, revealed that the Heeters' leader, Elec, called Frieza with the hopes to get him killed by Gas. However, the iconic villain is more powerful than ever, and he even unlocked a powerful new transformation!

Of course, Goku and Vegeta are surprised that Frieza was able to kill Gas easily. Vegeta even mentions that Gas had become the strongest in the universe, so he thought that Gas should have been stronger than Frieza, but that didn't turn out to be the case.

What is Frieza's most powerful form?

In Dragon Ball Super Chapter 87, Frieza shows off his new form to Goku and Vegeta. "Meet Black Frieza," he says. Black Frieza is able to take down Ultra Instinct Goku and Ultra Ego with ease, and according to the villain, achieving this form took plenty of toil.

How did Frieza unlock his new form?

Before showing off his Black Frieza form, Frieza revealed that he's been spending time on another dimension, a chamber where time flows differently. Known as "The Room of Spirit and Time", the place allowed Frieza to squeeze 10 years of training in just a short time.

The result of his 10 years of training is Black Frieza, and it looks like Goku and Vegeta are nowhere close to his power level.

Is Black Frieza more powerful than Gohan Beast?

In the latest Dragon Ball Super movie, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, Gohan is able to unlock a new form called Gohan Beast, which is an evolved form of his Potential Unleashed state. The transformation turns his hair white and eyes red, and Gohan Beast is able to defeat Cell Max, the powerful villain created by the Red Ribbon Army.

Now, fans are wondering if Gohan Beast is powerful enough to defeat Black Frieza. Since we haven't seen Gohan Beast and Black Frieza fight, it's difficult to measure who's more powerful. The story of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is said to take place after the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Arc, the arc before the Granolah the Survivor Arc, so there's still a chance that Black Frieza will eventually fight Gohan Beast in a future arc of Dragon Ball Super.

So for now, we will have to wait and see to find out who's more powerful between the two forms. Dragon Ball Super manga is taking a hiatus before the next arc begins, so don't expect a new chapter to come out in September 2022.
