The producer of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Richie Palmer, broke his silence that the rumors surrounding the involvement of the Illuminati in an interview with Empire. However, it is the same platform, as shared by @cosmic_marvel, that released the photos of the movie in their latest issue and the caption definitely gave it away as it says, “Strange stands before the Illuminati.”

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has a way of trying to conceal things before the release of the show and with so many eagle-eyed fans out there, keeping a secret is definitely hard. In Spider-Man: No Way Home, months prior to the release of the movie, everyone is already waiting for Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire because their arrival has already been leaked.

The case in point on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is that they are still denying these rumors even when the trailer, kind of, gave it away already. They want to keep everyone so interested then they’d try to deny the theories and speculations that the fans would be forming out of it.

In the trailer, we saw Doctor Strange got escorted by Ultron bots, thought we’d seen the last of them in Age of Ultron, but no, this time, they were repurposed into serving some kind of a tribunal. Upon arrival, we all heard the voice of Patrick Stewart’s Professor X.

The tribunal is expected to be Marvel’s Illuminati, a secret group that convenes to help the people with powers and in the comics, it was Stark who originally found the said tribunal. It consisted of heroes from various teams such as Black Bolt, Namor, Professor X, Reed Richards, and Tony Stark. Once, Doctor Strange even sat with these heroes when they sent Hulk away from Earth.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness drops in theaters on May 6, 2022.
