Doctor Strange 2 Producer Breaks Silence On Iron Man's Return Rumors

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to be the MCUs biggest crossover film, even bigger than 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home. With the latest trailer confirming Patrick Stewart's Professor X's return, might be Marvel's way of saying that more characters will blow the fans away.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will star Benedict Cumberbatch as his iconic sorcerer role, Doctor Strange, and will team up with Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda Maximoff, who is rumored to be the big bad for the film. The film will also include Benedict Wong as Wong, Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer, and Xochitl Gomez will make her debut as America Chavez.

Rumors are circulating that characters like Professor X, Loki, Monica Rambeau, Captain Carter, Reed Richards, and a surprising Iron Man variant who is rumored to be played by Tom Cruise are going to make an appearance in the film.

Now, the sequel's producer finally breaks silence on these rumors and what he makes of them.

In an interview with Empire, producer Richie Palmer sat down to discuss the possible inclusion of Iron Man in the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Palmer noted that in No Way Home, 'some rumors ended up being true, and some did not. Palmer explained, “As you saw in Spider-Man: No Way Home, some rumors ended up being true, some did not… I would love to see Tony again, but some rumors are just rumors."

Palmer then explained his excitement for The Illuminatti, who are tied to characters in the comics that could be still in development. Palmer explained, "I will say that I love The Illuminati. But if we ever introduce The Illuminati in the future, it might be more MCU-driven and have some more ties to our characters in the MCU, versus just replicating what's in the comics.”

These Iron Man rumors started when the latest trailer dropped and we saw a yellow mysterious entity fighting Wanda. Whether it could be a Captain Marvel variant, Human Torch, or could be a Superior Iron Man variant.

If Tony Stark may be alive in a different universe, he may be played by someone who's really well-known and rumors claim that Tom Cruise will be starring as Tony Stark in another universe. However, for Robert Downey Jr., it's unlikely that he will come back to do a cameo once again since the actor had finally retired from playing his iconic role for more than a decade.

Either way, brace yourselves for more surprises when Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hit theaters on May 6.
