Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Drops Wanda's Very Own Featurette

As the day of its arrival in theaters nears, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness continues to hype up the film by releasing teasers online, preparing everyone on what the movie would be like. Now, they released a featurette of one of the most pivotal characters in the narrative: Wanda Maximoff and her return on the big screen.

Before the highly-anticipated sequel, Wanda last appeared in her own series, WandaVision where she dealt with the grief of losing Vision, held a whole town hostage, created her own family, embraced being the Scarlet Witch, and left everything after realizing what she has done. Her appearance in the upcoming movie will pick-up where the series left.

The featurette starts with Vision’s voice, his line, “What is grief, if not love, persevering?” and Kevin Feige proceeds with discussing how the multiverse will bring everyone different realities where there would be various versions of the characters including that of Wanda Maximoff. Elizabeth Olsen shares that WandaVision is the very first time Wanda steered the wheels of her life.

Sam Raimi mentioned that Wanda going to the next level is for the fans of WandaVision and Benedict Cumberbatch has nothing but praise on how Olsen portrayed the character so well, owning it with her powerful performance. Raimi proceeds saying that the multiverse and the characters meeting their different versions give them a perspective to see themselves with the qualities that they may have not seen before.

At one point of the featurette, Billy and Tommy shows up, seemingly enjoying their time in Westview with their mother but it transitioned into the reality where Wanda is floating and seemingly dreaming about it. By the end of the clip, Wanda’s different versions show up as if breaking the fourth wall.

It is exciting to see how Wanda will transition from WandaVision to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness especially now that she has the ample knowledge of her powers and the maturity after everything she had been through. While some theorize that Wanda will be a villain in the movie, it is also possible that she turns out to be the heroine alongside Doctor Strange.
