Doctor Strange 2: Marvel Fans Think The Illuminati is MCU’s Version of Suicide Squad

Alongside Benedict Cumberbatch's titular hero and MCU vet Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch's return in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, fans are also exhilarated with the first live-action debut of the acclaimed comic book group of heroes, The Illuminati. But apparently, fans were met with tremendous dissatisfaction when the film hit theaters.

The Illuminati is a group of heroes that protects the Multiverse from mystical threats. Led by Patrick Stewart's Professor X, the founding members include Hayley Atwell's Captain Carter, Anson Mount's Black Bolt, Lashana Lynch's Maria Rambeau Captain Marvel, Variant, Chiwetel Ejiofor's Mordo, and John Krasinski's Reed Richards.

Those who extremely anticipated the Illuminati's arrival are surely in for a treat, however, not for very long. When the Scarlet Witch 'dream walked' and possessed Earth 838's Wanda, she went to the Illuminati facility to capture imprisoned America Chavez.

While the Illuminati tried to stop the ruthless Scarlet Witch, the mad villain single-handedly annihilated all of them in a very eerie way. Wanda shredded Reed Richards to pieces, cut Captain Carter in half, and snapped Professor X's neck very effortlessly.

Now, for a group known as the most powerful and prominent people in the Multiverse, the scene where the Scarlet Witch slaughtered all of them is a little bit uncanny, and fans expected at least a substantial fight scene between the Scarlet Witch and the Illuminati.

After months of anticipation of the group's arrival into the MCU, it's disappointing how it appears that this group of powerful heroes looked like a bunch of weaklings against the Scarlet Witch. Fans expected a momentous battle between Wanda and the Illuminati that would showcase the group's enormous powers but barely got a decent one.

Although nothing is confirmed yet, With the Multiverse in mind, the Illuminati might come back from another universe and avenge themselves after being humiliated by the Scarlet Witch.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is now showing in theaters worldwide.
