Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness: Is Wanda the Villain? Reason Explained.

Wanda's story since the start has been tragic. From childhood to the present, all she had was loss and pain, trying to rebuild herself only to cause destruction again. After WandaVision, she comes into contact with the Darkhold after getting it from Agatha Harkness.

Wanda studied the book of the damned, one which destroys everything it touches and corrupts the reader to their core until the darkness fully consumes the wielder of the knowledge the Darkhold has.

While she only wants to be with her children, her means are far more sinister to achieve her goal: get America Chavez and her powers so Wanda can travel the multiverse where she may be happy with her children in a different reality.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness: Is Wanda the Villain? Reason Explained.

Yes, Wanda is the villain of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Her powers are way beyond what Strange has, even America's, but in the end, Wanda turns out to be the hero of the narrative, too.

America is smart. She knows where to hit Wanda in a way that she would not physically attack her. America sent Wanda through a portal where she would see Billy and Tommy, Wanda's weakness.

Since she would not want to hurt her children nor let her children see her hurt anyone else, Wanda goes down on her knees with tears and her variant approaches her, telling her that she is loved.

Wanda gets a change of heart and realizes the mess she made with the Darkhold corrupting her. Because of this, Wanda made sure never to let anyone read the book of the damned ever again.

Wanda destroys the temple of Chthon, coming down along with its crumbles, and she also destroys every copy of it in all of the multiverse -- the right decision to make as Strange said.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is now in theaters.
