Doctor Strange 2: Benedict Wong Wants an X-Men Crossover

In just almost one more week of anticipation, the MCU's highly-anticipated film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will finally hit the big screens, and we will unravel all the rumored appearances of several MCU characters across different massive franchises.

Benedict Cumberbatch's titular hero would be joined by two renowned characters, including a surprising crossover with Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch, and the debut of MCU newcomer Xochitl Gomez playing America Chavez. Aside from the two, fans would undoubtedly protest if Strange's loyal sidekick Wong won't join the sorcerer in the upcoming film.

Being a side character, Wong had a very eventful adventure in the MCU throughout the years. Wong has appeared in several major MCU projects like Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and last year's MCU milestone Spider-Man: No Way Home. Wong also even had a small cameo in Simu Liu's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Wong now plays a prominent role in the MCU, and it looks like the character will have much more adventure to unravel in the future.

Now that Wong has interacted with many MCU characters, who would the actor want to interact with next?

In a recent interview with JOE.ie, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness star Benedict Wong responded to a question about which character in the MCU he would love to crossover with whom he hasn't already.

Wong responded, “Oh wow… I’d love to work with the Samuel L. Jackson… which other worlds are we… I mean, if ever the X-Men are around, I’d like to hang out with the X-Men… I’m a big Marvel comic fan back in the day and obviously, I always remembered the Secret Wars, where everybody was involved… Who else? X-Force, Nightcrawler, all of those. What I love about this and I thank the MCU… [I have] portal world travel… so the more, the merrier.”

Well, that's very suspicious. As fans suspect that this is another hint that the infamous X-Men will make an appearance in the Doctor Strange sequel, it would definitely be interesting seeing the sorcerers investigate the emergence of the X-Men into the MCU. Now that Patrick Stewart's Professor X is confirmed in the upcoming film, the appearances of other notable X-Men characters are definitely plausible at this point.

While we don't have any information yet if the Secret Wars storyline will ever make it into the MCU, it would definitely beat the Avengers: Endgame level of crossover that will surely blow everyone's mind, that even the Russo Brothers have expressed interest in doing it. Assuming that Wong is still alive, he'll definitely make it to the list.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will hit the big screens on May 4.
